Today, forward-thinking healthcare organizations find a need to navigate toward two horizons – the evolving Meaningful Use (MU) requirements and also the requirements for Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs). This presentation provides an overview on the current Stage 1 and proposed Stage 2 MU objectives. Those objectives are framed against a set of success factors that will define successful ACOs. Risk Management, Quality and Patient Safety Professionals are offered a roadmap and tools for evaluating initiatives that will ensure that MU objectives are met while best positioning an organization to deliver patient-centered care in a manner that will characterize effective ACOs.
