On April 28, 2017, CMS announced seven new proposed measures to be included in the Hospital Inpatient Quality Reporting Program (Hospital IQR Program). One of the seven new measures is the “Quality of Informed Consent Documents Measure.”

This webinar reviews:

  • Necessary changes to organizations’ consent forms including listing the procedure description, reason for the procedure, risks, benefits and alternatives – all specific to the planned procedure.
  • Rationale for the proposed measure and analysis of its development
  • The 20-point abstraction tool that was designed for the proposed measure
  • Discussion of potential challenges presented by the proposed requirements and guidance for achieving compliance

This is a must-attend webinar for professionals who seek to be prepared for potentially sweeping changes to their informed consent forms and processes.
